Jennie,
Considering what happened last Christmas, I am hedging my bets this year and sending your gift over early. Just in case I get quarantined in my apartment building again, you understand. You might be a little curious as to why I'm sending you a gold pocket watch, normally a gift for those of the male persuasion but this one is different.
This watch has been passed down through my family for generations and it was the only thing my grandfather was able to save after he got out of the concentration camps. Besides my grandmother. When I went to university, he presented it to me as a token of his pride. I was doing something extraordinary and while he had trouble verbally expressing it, the watch spoke for him.
There will be no little Maximoff's in my future, no one to hand this down to...and I want you to have it. I remember when you first came in and I first became your powers instructor -- I simply do not have the words to express the pride I have in how very far you've come.
(This does not get you out of your next lesson, however. ;) )
We Rom find family where we can and I can think of no better home for this. My grandfather would be pleased.
