Angelo,

I find myself in need of your good will. I would have said 'your assistance,' but it occurs to me that, against my preferences, I am asking for your blind faith, rather than your informed consent.

I know who breached your privacy, a few days ago.  It will not happen again.

What I hope you will grant me is your trust in this matter.  I will not let the culprit go unpunished, but in a situation of this severity, public disclosure would almost certainly lead to an atmosphere that would be detrimental to the well-being of all concerned.

I ask for your trust in my ability to deal with the situation privately.  Your trust that I will do my best to ensure that balance is restored, as it should be, in the best possible manner for all who live under my roof and rest in my care.  And while I realize that moving past this incident will be difficult without closure, I ask that you leave all further resolution to me, and do your best to go on with your studies unhindered by fear or regret.

Whatever you decide, rest assured of my good will towards you.  If you have any further questions, or need counsel of any kind, you have only to ask.

Professor Charles Xavier
