I didn't think you'd ask me that particular question without already being sure of what you wanted, that's for sure. But giving you more information to be certain you had a solid base and stepped forward into this with the full knowledge of what was going on was the only thing to do. And you'll still have the training period to see how this suits you, too. Heck – you're not signing your soul to us, not during any step of the way.

So... a few things, now.

First - I'd like you to go talk to Jubilee. Just sit down with her and talk about what it's like to be a trainee, what it's done for her and what her thoughts on the entire matter are. Both to give you an insight in the routine of it all, as well as how it affects someone and also... to get an opinion on it that's not mine or anyone from the team's, but that of someone who is going now through what you will be going through shortly.

Second – After talking to Jubilee (and any other trainee, if you want), you talk to your parents. We'll work out a way for you to head out there for a few days, or bring them over – but you need to talk to them on this even if you are over eighteen.

Third – at one point before this all becomes formal, we're going to have a little talk about what ifs. Hard line to toe there, but you're about as grounded as anyone I know and after everything you've been through and have grown from, I'm pretty sure you're already good on it. Still wanna have that talk though, because it's always better to do that anyway.

Fourth – but not least... after all that, we'll go have a sit down with the Professor, Ororo and Scott and work out the details.

There's always more to learn. And always someone to show us something we never thought of. That applies to every single one of us.

I look forward to learning more from you.

Alison
