We're heading out to Malibu tomorrow morning (at 8:30! Julian's a slave-driver...) and I just wanted to say goodbye. I came by your room earlier, but you weren't there, so I thought I'd send you a message instead. I hope you're out doing something fun!

In any case, I'll see you in a little less than a week. Have a good one! And is there anything you want me to bring you? Conch shell, t-shirt, surfer kitsch? ;)

So Julian held out? Good for him. Enjoy your trip, do not get sunburned, and try to take in the sights if you can. I will be fine without souvenirs, thank you, but if you could stop by my suite before you leave, I have something for you. Trust me, I will be awake long before you have to leave.
