lacityboy: ...okay. Had a talk with Amanda, and she... said some things.

thecatsmeow: oh? *hugs* doesn't sound reassurign

lacityboy: Thanks. And, no. It wasn't.

thecatsmeow: she's... well, she's impossible.
thecatsmeow: what did she say?
thecatsmeow: (feel free to tell me to buzz off, if you want.)

lacityboy: ...Nah, it was fair enough to ask. But it was pretty personal, so I think I'll pass on answering that one for now.

thecatsmeow: Understood.

lacityboy: And yes, she is. Don't wanna see her right now.

thecatsmeow: I think you're hardly in the minority opinion there

lacityboy: The love potion stuff wasn't completely her fault, you know? I can understand why people are mad at her for it, 'cause it wouldn't have happened without her, but she didn't use it. That's not why I don't wanna talk to her.

thecatsmeow: I'm not _mad_ at her, not really. And I think the only reason people are striking out at her over that is that there's no one else. We don't know who did use it, and that's worrying.
Besides, if not for her we'd never have known what happend to Illyana. I can't be angry with her after that.

lacityboy: *nods* Makes sense. Although... didn't 'Yana come back on her own in the end?

thecatsmeow: *nod* I don't know how, but she did. But... well... it looked like it was years between when we lost her and when she got back, and if Amanda hadn't let us know what was happening all we'd have seen was Illyana as a little girl in the morning, and as a hurt young woman in the afternoon.

lacityboy: Yeah, you're right. Maybe someone should tell her that - when we were talking, she said something about everybody bein' down on her even after she'd tried to do good stuff...

thecatsmeow: I... yeah, somebody probably ought to. Don't think I can be the one, though/.
thecatsmeow: May not be mad at her, but...

lacityboy: No, me either. Not a good idea for me to talk to her right now.

lacityboy: *nods* Maybe I'll get Em to say something - think she was going to talk to her anyway.

thecatsmeow: God, we're all so broken, aren't we?
thecatsmeow: Is it just that it's only just not-February, or what the fuck?

lacityboy: *nods* Sure seems like it. :(
lacityboy: I have no idea.

thecatsmeow: *sigh*

lacityboy: Yeah.

thecatsmeow: I just want a month where nothing blows up, no one runs away or is kidnapped, is hurt, or magically/telepathically coerced into anything. Is it really so much to ask?
thecatsmeow: I mean, yeah, we'll never be _normal_ but it's a bit much

lacityboy: It shouldn't be too much to ask, no. Seems like the rest of the world disagrees, though.

thecatsmeow: Oh hey, meant to ask before, how's the new roommate situation going?

lacityboy: Not too bad, actually. Think Jono objects to having to move in general more than moving in with me,

thecatsmeow: Well, I guess that's good to hear.

lacityboy: Yeah. Not sure we'll ever be friends, but we're getting on OK, I think.

thecatsmeow: *nod* that is good to hear

lacityboy: *smiles* So how are you, anyway?

thecatsmeow: pretty well, actually.

lacityboy: good!

thecatsmeow: I mean, it's been a quiet week, which means lots of decompression time
thecatsmeow: Definitely looking forward to break, though

lacityboy: *nods* Always a good thing. And so am I. You got any plans?

thecatsmeow: Nope. Spend time with Jamie not being insane

lacityboy: Well, that's good!

thecatsmeow: yeah, it will be

lacityboy: Trips to NYC?

thecatsmeow: he's apparently got some plan to kidnap me sometime this week and drag me off somewhere to relax, but he's being all secrative about it

lacityboy: *laughs*

thecatsmeow: maybe. Wouldn't say not, anway. Never turn down a trip into the city if I get the chance.
thecatsmeow: oh, and M-A and I are taking Jamie shopping. Silly boy agreed to buy leather pants. He's doomed

lacityboy: ... *LAUGHS*

lacityboy: Do I want to know how you talked him into that?

thecatsmeow: er...

lacityboy: Okay, okay, I'll let you off.

thecatsmeow: I was teasing him for being distracted by basically every article of clothing I own, and he complained that the distribution of distracting clothing was unfair.
thecatsmeow: the leather pants were actually his idea
thecatsmeow: *grin*

lacityboy: Really?

thecatsmeow: *nod* yep
thecatsmeow: well, this time.

lacityboy: ...This time?

thecatsmeow: well, I know M-A's mentioned it to him before.
thecatsmeow: She's entranced by the whole leather pants thing.
thecatsmeow: I merely watch in bemusment, but far be it for me to discourage him.

lacityboy: ...M-A has a thing for leather pants? Now, that I didn't know...

thecatsmeow: you've not noticed? Everytime Doug ends up in them she's thrilled.

lacityboy: *laughs* Can't say I had, actually.

thecatsmeow: Well, watch the next time the band ends up playing. it's fun
