Carefully packaged painting by Mary Ann Colby, a watercolor portrait of mutants hand-in-hand, only the hands in frame - one grey and stretchy, one sparkly.

The card attached reads: "Happy (belated) anniversary, from Amanda and (sort of ) Marie-Ange".

Delivered to Amanda's room, a parchment thank you card with a handwritten message:

I had thought I would have to try and convince my cousin to track down whoever had bought the painting, and it seems that Angelo had a similar thought, so you getting to it first was a delightful surprise. Thank you from us both. -JPC
