Inspector Michael Lipetri of the NYPD’s 75th precinct released a brief statement yesterday regarding the investigation of the homicide of mutant rights activist and fashion designer Jumbo Carnation. Inspector Lipetri urged the community to demonstrate restraint and allow the NYPD to conduct their investigation unimpeded. Third-party investigations and vigilantism, Lipetri warned, could compromise the search for the culprit and result in more violence.
No further developments in the case have been announced, and the NYPD still has not determined whether this homicide will be investigated as a hate crime.
