I thought we had an understanding that I don't do the field leader thing - I seem to remember it not going too well in Utah. I know why they need me there, and Shiro, and the pixie, but you really want me in charge out there? I ain't got the world's best track record.

Special case, Cain. I wouldn't be putting this on you if I didn't think you were able to do it. Utah was two years ago, and you've got a good rapport with the two people going with you.

I mean, if you can think of someone else I could send, who you'd take orders from... I trust you to keep your head, and keep your teammates intact.

Fair enough. First sign of trouble, though, and I'm having Clarice pull us all out. If it's some poor lost lamb, we'll pick them up and bring them in.

I'll be on coms, or not far from the coms, if you need to consult. I know we're used to simple situations turning unexpectedly complicated, but that's not inevitable. Hopefully this'll be straightforward.
