Gentlemen, and most esteemed colleague,
It seems I owe you an extreme apology regarding my failure to safeguard my charges, and especially my student. Not voluntarily, I might add - I was... I believe the is 'jumped' by some associates of Amanda's former guardian. I am relatively unharmed, which is more than I can say for my attackers, but I was sufficiently delayed to be unable to prevent Amanda's departure. I was in the process of tracking her magically when she confronted the... person in question.
At this moment my primary concern is Amanda's welfare. The magic I sensed her expending will have effects on her addiction, and I am concerned for any damage done to her by Rack. I have not been able to pick up any trace of her since the early hours of this morning, and this concerns me greatly. Any information you could give me as to her whereabouts and condition would be greatly appreciated. Should you require - and want, after my regrettable lapse - my assistance at all, you only have to ask.
