D'you know what sucks about intercontinental flights? I can't sleep on them anymore, because I don't want Agnes Nutter* sitting next to me to start screaming the moment she realises my arm's gone missing. Before I came to New York, I'm not sure when the last time I didn't sleep on a flight was. It's become a reflex or something.
I'm not as cranky as I sound. Well, maybe a little. I lost my watch--I think I forgot to take it off when I went to sleep last night, which means it's somewhere in the bed. Would you keep an eye out for it?
Anyway, I have checked into the hotel and no one's tried to kill me yet. I should probably take that as a good sign.

*Why yes, I did re-read Good Omens on the plane, why do you ask?

Sweetheart, do you really think anyone on those flights notices anything? You probably could have told her you never had an arm to begin with. Though, caution is never bad - and if you slept, you'd miss all those wonderful new shows and movies they play on the planes now.
Mmm, I haven't seen it yet but then again I haven't been back to bed since this morning. It'll probably be on your side, somewhere; considering the number of pillows I've built up, it was probably eaten by the Pillow Monster or something.
Is it a nice hotel? Between a nice hotel and no attempts at murder, I think you're off to a good conference.

They played Hotel for Dogs. This is what I get for flying Lufthansa.
Let me know if you find it. I mean, I've already bought a replacement--bringing me up to three watches in three weeks, since I lost my real watch with my real arm--but I still liked that one. It's not the fine piece of Swiss engineering that my real watch was...but very few things are.
...I probably don't have time to duck out to Jacquet Droz to buy a new one, do I? Sigh. Besides, I should probably wait until I'm not in danger of losing it in my sleep.
It is a nice hotel. Too bad room service only brings me sausage and cheese. Good mini bar, though, which helps when one's trying to, y'know, sleep. Don't think I didn't notice Remy waited for me to get my sleep cycle straight before sending me back across the ocean.
Good morning from the future, by the way.
Jake
(That I've read Good Omens? Or are you trying to say that you miss me?)
