I didn't - sleep at all, I mean. Yes, I know. But things are beginning to move along here, and I've never been very good at sleeping while on a job. Plus Haroun was bitching that I snore, so I figured I'd stop giving him the excuse to carp. (Yes, I'm being grumpy. There's this continuing lack of you in my immediate vicinity and I'm just not coping all that well. So there.)
You know, this city never actually sleeps? Went out for a bit of a drive in the middle of the night and there was still activity everywhere. For all that I spent so many years living in the Southwest, I only passed through Vegas once or twice. I really didn't miss much. There is such a thing as too much neon.

...is a pain in the bloody ass, and whines like a little girl. "You snore, Nathan! You snore like a runaway freight train!" So I went and didn't sleep last night, just for him. Then he complained about me hogging the coffee this morning. If it wouldn't have been such a bad example to the kids - I keep telling them they're not allowed to fight - I would have strangled him at the breakfast table. Wanda is finding it all too terribly amusing.
It must be awfully quiet back there with so many of us here. (At least, I'm hoping it's awfully quiet.) Want me to bring you something less-tacky back from this tacky, tacky city?

Still feeling better than you were, I hope? You might be interested to know that Amanda and Jubilee have not, in fact, managed to kill each other yet. Also, Forge is still convinced that I'm a schizophrenic ninja. I find this very amusing.
I've been doing my meditation - have you been doing yours? Oddly enough, nothing that we're doing here this week seems to be triggering my precog. I'm not sure why. It is fairly significant, after all - but maybe it's not long-term enough for me.
Doug is doing just fine, so don't worry. Did you know, though, that Forge doesn't like him very much? I hadn't noticed that before now. I feel a certain solidarity.

Yeah, this is me wondering how well Moira is doing with the whole not-working-herself-into-the-ground thing while I'm gone. I called her last night and woke her up out of a nap - which I can't help but interpret as a good sign - but I know her too well. I can't help but worry.
I imagine it must be pretty quiet back there, with so many of us trouble-magnets out of the mansion at the same time. Things are okay here. The kids are doing pretty well - very little snarkiness and no fights, amazingly enough. I'm still keeping a close eye on some of the more volatile pairs. (Yes, I mean Amanda and Jubilee, primarily.) I'm also trying to convince myself that bringing Alison's boyfriend back in anything less than mint condition would cause her to pout at me. I should really resist the temptation, shouldn't I?

If you're finding the meditation most helpful in the morning, you go right on doing it that way. Once I'm back, we'll try it together a couple of mornings so that I can get a good look at your mind while you're doing it. Sound good?
Doug is... well, okay, so there have been a few moments so far when I've had to make pointed comments about getting him surgically detached from his laptop. But I'm a great big bully.
And re: Forge - did I say I've been talking to the charming young man?

The boy with the black hair and the double-joints in joints that should not be able to be doubled? I think he was in my Literature class last semester? He and the Professor will be sharing hairstyles before he is thirty.
As for Jubilee, I am honestly trying not to think about it. If she survives to twenty, it will be a miracle. Would it be very wrong to try to convince her that there spider-eggs in certain brands of gum?
Doug loves his laptop. I would be jealous, but he says that cuddling the laptop is not any fun at all. And yes, you are a big bully, but we love you anyway.
I try to avoid Forge. He strikes me as ... well, just not terribly socially well adjusted.
