Thank you all for your help in finding my sister.
I trashed Porter's bank accounts. There's a check in your inbox, Vanessa. Call it a bonus.

It was more than my pleasure. I'm only ticked that he got away. As it is, I need a shower and a dry cleaner. Possibly a week's worth of sleep. And about a million energy bars.

I'm glad to see you're okay, at least. I can buy you those zillion energy bars with the remains of Porter's bank accounts... :P

You're welcome. I'm glad we found her and that she was pretty OK when we did. And, wow. Thanks. Tell Porter I appreciate his patronage and so will everyone else.
How is she doing, by the way? She seemed like a pretty strong kid once you saw past the general shock.

Yeah, I figured the scumsucker's ill-gotten gains ought to go to something useful. He may have made...a few other charitable donations, as it were.
As for Katie...she's headed home for a bit, and then transferring...somewhere on the West Coast. I'm pretty much PNG due to being the reason for her abduction.

I like the way you think. I'm more than happy to take his money and put it toward helping us help mutants. That and now I can buy myself something pretty as a present.
PNG?
Hopefully the move will help distance her from the kidnapping stuff. She'll move on quicker that way, I think. Plus, less bitterly cold. I hear Berkeley's nice.

What can I say, I want to be Martin Bishop when I don't grow up.
Persona non grata. In other words, she hates my stinking guts.
I hope so.

Who? (Google fails me)
Oh, fun times. She'll get over it. It's not exactly like it was your fault. Some moron with a thing took her to use against you or whatever. It's not like you paid to have her kidnapped for sport or something.

Robert Redford's character in Sneakers.
Maybe. I dunno, she seemed pretty adamant. Plus maybe it's safer this way, if people don't think I'm close to my family.

Are you aware that I am the girl who falls asleep during movies? I don't think I've seen that one anyway.
If people don't think you're close to your family they will go after your friends or your girlfriend or that person you seem fond of at the coffee shop. Enemies are enemies, love, and there's always someone to hurt you with and there's always someone who can account for their mutation if they have one.
She'll get over it. Family is family and you didn't do something unforgivable here. You got her out before anything bad really happened. Eventually that's what she'll remember you for.

It's a good movie. Quasi-private investigation firm that rights wrongs and so forth. Y'know, that reminds me of someone, give me a minute and I'll think of it...
Yeah, well, don't have a girlfriend, my coworkers hate my guts, and I pity the jackass that decides you're my friend and therefore a good target.
I'd like to hope so, at least.

Can't imagine who you know that's such a boy scout. Righting wrongs is so dull.
Hey, maybe we should start making it look like I'm your girlfriend just to paint the target on my back. No one has tried to abduct me in a very long time and I like the high pressure thrill going into a fight.

No thanks is necessary, of course.
Your sister is well now?

That doesn't mean I won't give them.
As well as can be expected. She's headed home, and then transferring somewhere on the West Coast. I'm not exactly her favorite person at the moment.
