The money trail was very professionally covered. Whoever's into this is either very good, or has the resources to hire somebody very good. But not as good as me. There were a whole lot of dead ends and false fronts, but everything seems to lead back to an R. Campbell. Hope that gives you something to go on.

I've got a project for you, Doug.

I've been trying to run down some money lines, stuff connected with the sale of Kevin MacTaggart's DNA on the open market. Something curious and incredibly annoying has blocked me through. Both Strucker's payment, and Joe MacTaggart's are routed through about a dozen shell companies; very slick, very professional, and twisted like a snake eating its own tail. However both trails lead to a trust company in Switzerland.

That means we were right, and both Strucker's sale and who Joe arranged for his clone, this Essex guy, have to be connected. The trouble is the trust is a shell too, and the encryptions are nosebleed tight. I need you to crack through and keep the trail going. At some point there's got to be a dispersement of the funds, or a final actionable account, and that will tell us Essex is the bastard behind all this.

I don't need to mention that the number of laws you're about to violate would create a stack of paper the height of Amanda to cover them all at your trial if you get caught. So, you know, don't get caught.

Figured that I should give you the heads up. Recently during some work in Germany, we turned up an unexpected bonus prize: Sarah Morlocke. Being gutted by Nazis hasn't really improved her temper much, but she's back in New York City now. I figured you guys might need to know.

As well, can you see if you can get her files shipped over to the Centre? We've got a shrink here who might need to check her out, and knowing the backhistory of 'entire family killed by the guy in the next office' might be useful to her.

I've got a helper for you; Marie-Ange Colbert. She's a mentally damaged precog who can make images appear out of thin air. Looks good in a bikini. She also knows her way around a research engine and speaks a couple of languages. She's going to be digging into Strucker's history with you.

So, assuming you're actually going to be useful and help us figure out about this weird German bastard, she'll be dropping by your office later today. That should give you time to swab off the couch.

Subject: Hey

So, in addition to the contracted work on their computers, the Snow Valley Team (read: Amanda, actually, but, you know, official work stuff and I'm being paid so I might as well be correct about it) have asked me to help out with their current bit of research. Which, hey, money always good, so I said yes.

The catch would be that this particular bit of research means Amanda and I are hoping on a plane to Muir tomorrow (far as I can tell, she wants me to translate genetic-speak into Amanda-speak). She says we won't be gone more than a couple days.

Obviously, told you about all the non-disclosure stuff they wanted me to sign, and there is some of that here, I'll be upfront about that, but nothing you need to worry about, I think.
