Monsieur Farouk,

Out of his deep and abiding respect for the people who introduced us, and your own considerable reputation, His Excellency is amenable to rescheduling the meeting - in order to accomodate the change in your circumstances.

We shall discuss the details once you arrive, but I must warn you - the price is likely to rise due to the inconvenience to His Grace.

I am looking forward to speaking with you in person.

Sincerely,
Ian.

Charles,

I apologize for the unsolicited advice, but it might be a good idea to restrict students to school grounds for a few days, until the Indian situation becomes clearer.

Depending on who is involved, New York might very well face some sort of concurrent 'message' intending to stop the US from interfering.

Sincerely,
Amahl.

Dr. Farouk,

I hope that your sabbatical has been a pleasant one and that you have enjoyed your time away from work. You left excellent lesson plans and I have not had any problems with any of your students. I would like to be able to tell them when they should expect you to return to the classroom. What information can I give to them?

Sincerely,

Crystal Amaquelin

Amahl,

I apologize for the need to disturb you, given your own situation, but I am afraid that I find myself needing your assistance in a very delicate matter.

The team has been involved this week in the retrieval of a mutant from an Iranian nuclear facility targeted for destruction by Israel. Our involvement in this operation was at the invitation of the Mossad - a favor, for previous services rendered. Though the mutant in question was retrieved safely, the operation did not go quite as planned and I find myself preoccupied with the situation of our stranded team members.

This man does require further assistance, however, and I don't wish to neglect his needs. He comes originally from Afghanistan; I was hoping that you might be able to make use of your contacts there to help him return home. Please let me know if this would be a possibility.

- Charles

My dear, Amahl, it was a great pleasure to hear from you - we were beginning to suspect that you had forgotten us completely.

It seems a shame that the motivation for the rekindling of our friendship is so troubling, but such is life, as they say.

I have made the inquiries (cautiously and through the third parties, as you requested) about the St. Ignatius Hospice.

It was an... interesting experience. If nothing else I am in your debt for making me aware of that establishment's existence.

But to more pressing matters - your information was substantially correct, and from what I have been able to gather this facility (both in physical and personnel resources) is more than equipped to undertake the procedure you described.

The recommendations from the former clients are almost universally laudatory, as well.

Would you like me press on with this endevour?

I strongly suggest that no time is to be wasted, if the situation is as grim as you alluded to. The facility is somewhat exclusive - and while I am not without some pull in our little backwater of a town, it will take a little time. And - while I hesitate to bring it up - considerable financial outlay.

Looking forward to hearing from you and give my best to Esteban,

Sincerely and always, your friend,
J P Roche.

Next time you put in an order for more cigars, get me a box or two?

Nothing better than a good Cuban after dinner. I'm getting spoiled, I used to have to take whatever I could get.

Professor Farouk-

I was wondering if you might do me the favor of taking over my history class. As you may see from my journal post, my momma took a bit of a fall down the stairs, and I'm going to be heading home to help take care of her.

If you're agreeable to the idea, I'll get you all of my lesson plans and notes. The kids are all pretty good, there's just a few you have to watch out for, like Kyle. History's actually a strong suit of his, but you wouldn't know it by reading the titles of the papers he turns in. Boy thinks he's funny. "Hitler vs. Stalin - Genocidal Crazy Guy against Commie Scum. Fight!"

Scott-

You probably have already read my post about going home to help take care of my momma. In terms of taking over my classes, I've asked Professor Farouk if he'd mind taking over my history classes. As for flight class, I'm not entirely sure who you might ask to do that. If Warren weren't in California, I'd say he'd be a good choice. Maybe Shiro's up to the task? If you've got any ideas, let me know. I'll be around for at least a couple more days getting everything taken care of before I head home.

Dear Charles,

I am writing to let you know that I shall be arriving to New York tomorrow.  The flight information is listed below.

Once again - you have my profound gratitude for your assistance in unraveling the  soul-crushing morass of bureaucratic maze that is the US visa application process.

I am looking forward to making good on my debt of cognac to you later this week.

Deepest respects,
Sincerely,

A. Farouk.
