Then there was the rumour mill about us and the Way, not to mention fucking Taboo giving Topaz the hard sell.

Now, I swear to fuck I'm being stalked by wildlife. I wasn't sure before - it's New York, rats and crows and the like are a thing. But I just saw a snake - a big bloody BLACK snake - following me while I was going on a coffee run.

Has anyone else had anything like that? Is there a group of magic users out there who use black animals as familiars?

Hey, Topaz. Sorry if this is outside of your sphere, but I wanted to run something by you. It's about Arthur's psychometry.

Arthur said Amanda debriefed him, so you might have some idea of what he's dealing with. The complicating factor is that he picks up associated mental and emotional states as well as the attached history. What he got from Death's armor was bad on a number of levels, and it's still causing problems even a month later. Especially the emotional aspects.

Jean and I were reluctant to do anything too invasive while he was injured, but thanks to Warren's, uh . . . magic blood, I guess, we're now pretty sure he's stable enough that whatever issues he's still experiencing are powers-related, not organic, and that going in there won't aggravate anything further. I was hoping you might be able to take a look and see if there's anything you'd suggest from the empathic end of things.
