Haller,
I just accidentally Read a ring of Tandy's that she left at my place. She came over for dinner and we'd been talking about her nightmares and how they keep her from sleeping. In my Reading I heard her say she needed to sleep "before it wears off". She looked like she was on something- vacant, you know? I'm worried she's taking something, but in the rest of the Reading I couldn't see her take anything. I don't know what to do, especially because of the fact she's going on that trip tomorrow. What should I do?

Okay. Let me think.
The easiest thing is to ask. I mean, it's not necessarily going to turn up the truth, but maybe you can hint around the subject to gauge her reaction. If she's having nightmares it's also possible that she's been prescribed an anti-anxiety medication by Jean or Amelia and neglected to mention it to you, so you might lead with that. If it's legit, problem solved. If it's not, I imagine you're better than most about figuring out when someone's lying about this sort of thing.
The more reliable approach is, well . . . as her co-guardian I guess you could compel a drug-test. If you don't feel comfortable making that call on your own you can discuss your concerns with Father Bowen and see what he thinks about it. It probably won't be a comfortable experience but at least you'd have concrete results.
Either way, see what you can find out from Tandy first before we get too far ahead of ourselves. We can always go to the professor if we need to.

Okay, yes. Good plan. I will do all these things. I'll find out from Jean about the medication and I'll talk to Father Michael and I'll talk to Tandy. Thanks a lot, Haller. Especially for saying 'we'. It's less scary that way.
