Well, I had to talk like crazy, but I finally got my major and two minors approved. Apparently my adviser thought I 'would be spreading myself too thin'. But those letters of recommendation helped and now I am an official polisci major with minor in PR and business.

I think I make my adviser cry. There was definitely a feeling of despair in the air (and in her head) when I left. I told her I was thinking about adding a minor in English-Lit and she so helpfully pointed out that I'm already looking at two extra years because I added the library science major at the beginning of last semester so I'm already starting out behind, and also I still have a bunch of general requirements, etc.
Also my biology professor apparently complained because I skipped class too much last semester. I passed every test and did every lab so I'm not entirely sure what the problem is, but now my adviser's saying I need to do better with my attendance. I thought mandatory attendance ended after high school?
So, not too bad all around. She won't approve my minor until next semester, though.

Yeah, I know I will probably be doing added time as well, though hopefully not two extra years. Still, I think I was lucky that I had some idea of the PR and business things, so I've been able to use some generals stuff for my minor etc. And I got lucky I got to test out of taking one year of language classes because my French.
Wait? Mandatory attendance? I have a few professors who rate you on participating in class, but it's always just a part and otherwise I don't have to worry too much about missing a class here and there.

A lot of mine have "three unexcused days then you need a doctor's note" policies. I didn't think they'd actually hold to it, but if someone's complaining about last semester, I guess I better play nice and show up. I suppose the fact that it wasn't just a class here and there didn't help me.
In my defense, it was Intro to Biology which was basically a rehash of the class I took in high school. I still passed every test.
