Since we're going to bugger tradition and all that anyway, I'd like for you to come with me for a trip into the city.

Also, any medical data you'd care to share on how _hot_ your skin gets while lasing would be very, very useful. I've already got the melting points of gold, silver, platinum, titanium, steel, and a few other metals tucked away in the ol' cranium. (I know, I know, steel is an alloy, not a metal. Shush!) I've heard you kvetch about ruining nail polish jobs and/or manicures with your power before, and I'd really hate to see you with a literal goldfinger.

That'd be a damned shame. The point is to _wear_ it, not to melt it when things get intense.

One: What did you and/or Lorna make this ring out of? I need to know for thermal stress reasons. I'd hate to fuck up your handiwork by wearing it while flying and having the darned thing melt off my finger.

Two: Is the First National Bank of Dayspring still open? I asked Alison to go ring-shopping with me (since, as you pointed out, we've already fucked tradition).

She ain't cheap. Worth it and more, but I'm not going to embarrass her.

What, precisely, did you make this thing out of? And what's the thermal stress properties?

I ask because I went for a flight this morning - in leathers - and when I landed the ring felt squishy. Deformed. Is this thing primarily gold?

Do you think I could get you to use your brain to realign my ring back to its original shape and structural integrity?

Lorna says not to fly with it from now on. Next time I see her she'll realign the metallic matrix to make it more heat-resistant.
