NEW YORK - June 28, 2014 - Hundreds of people packed the Grand Ballroom of the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan yesterday evening for the Red-X 10th Anniversary Benefit Gala to raise money for the organization. It was a night of glitz, glamor, and competition as a handful of eligible bachelors and bachelorettes were auctioned off for charity. Among the highlights of the night was the auction of local doctor Cecilia Reyes, who was ultimately 'won' by reality and film star Arthur Centino for $20,000.
Established in 2004, Red-X is a cooperative venture between the Red Cross and the Xavier Institute, providing a means to train those with special abilities to act as emergency personnel for in instances where first responders, search-and-rescue-teams, and humanitarian aid workers are needed.
