Sorry this is abrupt for someone you've never met, but Kyle was telling me a little about you during the debrief and I was wondering how you'd feel about potentially working with the newest arrival. His powers seem to be on the sonic spectrum, but while he's not totally unable to direct it he definitely hasn't had a lot of experience. From what Kyle told me I get the impression there might be some crossover between the two of you if nothing else.
If you're too busy please don't worry about it; I know it's a big ask from a stranger. I'm just looking at options at the moment.
Let me know,
David

David -
I don't mind helping at all. My schedule is fairly flexible, though I typically take Thursdays for myself these days and flex my hours on Saturday or Sunday mornings. Any other time, I'm generally available, especially for powers related training. Danger Room? Or did you want something less... boxy? Formal? Something something, anyway.
Best,
Terry

His powers are destructive enough he'd need either the Danger Room or a very open space.
The only thing of note is that using his powers seems to wear him out. One blast left him pretty shaky. The assessment might need to be broken up into a few parts.
Thanks,

We can certainly accommodate a lengthened testing period. How recently did he manifest? Was it just before he was brought to the mansion? Also, when you say he can't entirely direct his powers, do you know how he's creating them? Mine are all sound-based, lengthening and shortening wavelengths, controlling them, and when I utilise my sonic blast, I tend to just scream at a thing in a certain volume until it's either far enough away it can't bother me any longer or it's... well. It's in bits and pieces.
Lovely for breaking down doors, when necessary, but not particularly helpful in a general sense. The lengthening and shortening of wavelengths, as well as the volume I'm using, tends to play a very large part in my specific powerset. Knowing more about his powers will help me sort out how best to test them to get the appropriate answers. Obviously without tiring him out too much.
Best,
Terry

I wish I had more to tell. From what I know he's been manifested for a few years now. I'm not entirely sure what the mechanism is, but the blast seemed to come from his hands, or was at least directed through them. Definite force - enough to splinter wood - and a hum. I could feel something almost like a vibration building just before it happened. It's hard to explain. Telekinesis sometimes lets me feel things around me as they happen, if that makes sense.

Oh, absolutely. Jeanie's one of my oldest friends, so we've spoken about her telekinesis a fair bit. It makes sense. Your situational awareness needs to be on point to throw up shields and toss people about if it's ever necessary. Makes sense it'd always be 'on' to one degree or another.
We'll see how he does, then, with some initial testing. I think it'll be best to use the slow motion camera in the Danger Room, just to have video and obviously the most sophisticated recordings available for sound quality and analysis of replays.
I do so enjoy living in a place specifically aimed at helping people learn how to best use their powers.

Terry

I agree. I love working at Muir, but sometimes there's only so much you can do. Sometimes it feels like all I can do there is help patients tread water.
I really do appreciate the help. If possible, maybe we could compare notes over lunch or whatever at some point.
Thanks,

Muir is a genuine delight for research and recouperation. I often fundraise for them as well as the Institute.
And I'd love to compare notes! Lunch sounds like an excellent plan, we'll just need to sort out a day.
Best,
Terry
