Thanks, I appreciate it. I really need to get back in the habit of cooking things with instructions more involved than "heat on High Power".

Don't worry about the Madin thing. Admittedly I don't know them, but the impression I got is that they haven't had much in the way of support in their own life and consequently no real baseline for what it looks like. Sometimes when you're angry enough the actual facts don't matter - it's the act of lashing out that's important. I understand where they're coming from in some ways, but I'm sorry they expressed it in a way that it affected those of you who've been doing the work.

I probably have a few more easy recipes you might like. Let me have a look around. I also got a new variation on shakshuka if you like eggs? Even better, you can be my test subject for the Çilbir recipe that was in the NYT times a while back.

My mind knows that... Honestly, I mostly feel sad now, seeing all the hurt it caused all around. Not that I am blaming Madin.

I just kinda wish... I was thinking of Moira so much when I replied and all the stuff she has done. I wish they could see the work she does.

I'm fine with eggs. I think Alani mentioned they always have a surplus, although it's probably better if someone other than me goes to collect. I just don't understand birds.

I admit I was thinking about Moira, too, and I suppose I'm biased because non-mutants were always involved in my care. I think they were coming from a very different place, though - more social, I guess? Sometimes it's just a relief to be around people you don't have to constantly explain yourself to, or feel as if you need to make yourself "safe" for because if you make a mistake it'll be used against everyone like you. That's essentially the kind of space we've created here.

Why do you think I've been experimenting with egg dishes so much? We needed idea's to deal with the surplus of the eggs.

It just sucks. I understand where that can come from... have been there myself in some ways as a Muslim woman with a hijab. And I want to be understanding, but they really managed to hit a sore place. And it's not so easy for my emotions to follow along.

I think it would be very hard not to be at least a little upset, even if you understand what might have been driving it. You've put a lot of time into activism in general and the center specifically. You're allowed to have feelings about that.

Why would you ask that? It's like being asked where you want to go for dinner. . .

I guess I haven't had kateh and tomato omelet for a while. It's basically rice, tomato, herbs and eggs, so nothing too complicated.

Actually, why don't I just cook it for you next time? I did say I needed to get back into the habit.
