Hi Doug.

Question. Best ways to fight ninjas. I remember hearing corner them and not much else. I don't know why but assumed you had experience. Also I think you and Miss Mary Ange do spy things I think so would be your style. I know ninja is not really a thing anymore but also maybe they are and we don't know but it wouldn't be like movies. Did they even have specific to them martial art. Do not tell Mr Gibney I am asking he will make me read a book.

I am simultaneously wondering what exactly brought this line of questioning on, and afraid to actually ask the question. I mean, if this is because Bloodsport was on for movie night, or someone found "The Official Ninja Homepage" while browsing the internet...

I'd say I can neither confirm nor deny the spy stuff, but yeah, sometimes Angie and I and our coworkers have to do some covert type stuff to try and keep us all safe. Weirdly enough, haven't fought very many ninjas - I can think of like, one time and I think the dude who employed them was Chinese, so even that might not count. (Nazis, on the other hand, I've fought way too many of, but punching Nazis never gets old)

As to whether ninjas had their own martial art, most research on the subject says that they generally studied more traditional arts (taijutsu, kenjutsu and so on). Ninjutsu had more to do with the stealth, espionage, and asymmetric warfare aspects of being a ninja.

(If Kyle makes you read a book, I can get you a translated copy of the Bansenshukai)

Okay, that was kind of a lot of rambling. For fighting a ninja, it is much like fighting any other foe who would use stealth and surprise against you - take those advantages away from them. Keep them in the open and exposed, don't let them use hit-and-run tactics. Train your situational awareness so you aren't taken off-guard.

I suppose that's kind of general advice, but then again, so was The Art Of War.
