Mr. Summers,

This is just me having a shot at saying some stuff (I'd like to say it was on behalf of the student body, but they didn't agree to that yet and I wanted to do it now, so it's just on behalf of me) I probably should've done before - and some that's only just come up now.

Not so good at this stuff, so bear with me.

Speaking for myself, you don't have to apologize for anything that happened yesterday. Because all that did happen, as far as I can see, is you took some off-duty time and had a few drinks. You didn't drive, you didn't smash up the house, you didn't hurt anybody, you didn't break any laws that I know of. So what if you posted about it?

Jay's a judgmental little idiot (which is not something I would say to his face or anywhere Paige could hear me, but it's true) who has some kind of view of faculty as, like, robots or something who live to teach. You don't have to live up to that every minute of the day, not by my book and I'm sure nobody'd disagree with that. I'm not sure it's even possible to, without driving yourself crazy.

And you know what? It's good you took some time completely off your duties here. You should do it more often, as they allow. ;)

As for me, I owe you one hell of a lot. And if you were going to lose any of my respect, it wouldn't be over something stupid like this. You do an incredible job round here - I'm not sure I could keep it up the way you do - and I know, sometimes before now I've talked like you don't do enough, but I'm not thinking like that anymore. So even if we forget to tell you sometimes, don't ever think we don't appreciate what you and the others do for us.

Angelo,

I appreciate the support and the kind words. It really was completely inappropriate behavior on my part in a lot of ways, though, so the reaction is entirely justified.
