And here I was thinking I'd never be warm again. Maybe I don't like snow quite as much as I thought I did...
Things are settling down in medlab, finally. I've just sent Moira for some sleep, and Hank went a couple of hours ago. I'm told the majority of our casualties will be leaving in the afternoon - Gibbs is stable now, thanks to Amanda and Forge... I'm not exactly sure what it is Forge did, but Amanda tells me he's as much to thank as she is. Carey's still a mess, but I think she'll pull through okay. Bourne and Malcolm are sleeping the sleep of the heavily sedated. Revenge is mine, bwahaha and all that.
I really shouldn't write these reports this late.
The kids are doing pretty well, considering. I'm actually thinking the drugs helped in a way, numbing their reactions to everything a bit. Certainly they're not as traumatised as I was fearing. One of the girls has a broken leg, but it's a relatively simple fracture, as fractures go, and we've got it in a cast now. I'll be sitting down and gathering personal information on each of them tomorrow to pass onto Fred so we can get them back to their families and such - the sooner the better, I think. There will be some safety issues, considering they've been taken once, but again, I've put Fred and the rest of the taskforce onto that. Even if it means something like witness protection, they'll make sure the kids stay safe. In the event they can't be placed, Charles has offered to take them in here. Which makes perfect sense, to me.
Nathan's out cold, and probably will be for most of tomorrow. Morgan's looking to be the same - they've both overdone the TK in a big way. Morgan's conditioning is apparently completely gone, and Charles is checking over Nathan later tomorr... today, to see what's left of the trigger.
As far as the rest of the team goes... Haroun's got some nasty burns, and given the shape his back was in before this, I doubt he's going to be up and about for a while. Especially when we make sure he's doped up enough to not be able to get up. I've checked over Kurt, no actual broken ribs despite getting shot three times, just some serious bruising, and Kylun has one cracked rib that's been strapped and made as comfortable as a cracked rib gets. Alison I don't think anyone's seen yet - someone will pounce on her tomorrow, but she was moving well enough so I don't think she's too badly hurt. Hank's got a couple of cuts and some bruising, easily dealt with, and seems none the worse for wear from the energy-type blast he got, despite some earlier disorientation. I'm a tad battered from the final explosion, but it's nothing a few days' of not running through thigh-deep snow won't fix.
I've emailed Mick Foley with the news of Morgan's de-conditioning, just so you know. He needed to be told, Anika as well. There's a whole lot of implications staring at us as a result of today, but right now? I think we've got a good chance of beating these bastards at last.
My report of the mission is attached, please excuse the repetition of "swore helplessly and performed triage". *wry grin* I think we need to look at making the tranq darts a little more all-weather - the ones I had were too damn light for those conditions.

Date: 2005-02-09 05:11 pm (UTC)Keep me updated on any developments with the kids? I know this is something you and Charles could probably sort out without my involvement, but I'd like to be in the loop anyway. Call it a sense of kinship with orphans and unwanted children.
I'm going to assign a couple of people to the medlab - if Morgan's out cold it shouldn't be an issue, but I'd rather be cautious. Not to mention that I do not entirely trust MacInnis, who'll probably be down there for most of the day with his people.
Also, let me know if you hear from Foley and what his plans are. I'm certainly far from adverse to having him and Anika show up on the doorstep - the more deconditioned operatives we have around to talk to Morgan when he wakes up the better, as far as I'm concerned - but I should let Lee know to expect them, if so.
Thank you for the report, and I think I'm going to go topple off and get some sleep myself, now.

Date: 2005-02-09 10:25 pm (UTC)Definitely will keep you updated. I passed on the info I was able to get off the kids onto Fred Duncan and his people, and they're working on tracking their families down now. He's concerned (as I am) that some of the families will have been... removed to avoid causing problems. It wouldn't be the first time Mistra's done that.
So not going to argue with you on the security precautions. After Remy's second breakout, I'm perfectly happy to err on the side of paranoia.
I've heard briefly from Foley - he and Ankia should be here no later than Friday. He's going to email me with further details once he's spoken to GW. I'll keep you posted.
Sleep now.
