subject: Meggan, Wisdom, and the kidnapping

We've run down as much preliminary information that we've been able to find, and both Jake and Betsy are modeling new profiles. However, I want to keep everyone up to date, especially since it could concern the school.

Meggan was abducted from the park by Clarence 'Patches' Donnally, who planted a magic charm designed to neutralize her powers for a time period without lasting harm.

Patches mets with a bodyguard and together they both drive to upstate New York.

Patches, his bodyguard, and two other men are ambushed by one or more professionals and executed. In the case of Patches, his death is designed specifically to cause the maximium amount of pain and terror possible prior to death.

Meggan is retrieved and returned to the mansion by a gentleman identified only as 'paul', and no conclusive image of the man can be drawn from her memory.

The other two men killed at the site of the ambush were professional muscle: worked as bodyguards, stringers, etc. Recently both of them have done some work for Ellis Security Consulting, a little New York business that provides men for the odd client. It's also a front company, set up by Wisdom several years ago. It looks like he's still using it, since bank records on both men show deposits in the month prior to their deaths from the company. They were also not exclusive to the one company, andhave worked for a few other shell companies.

Pete Wisdom is aware of Meggan's existance. He got his hands on shots from the wedding and likely identified her through those. To the best of my knowledge, no one else outside of the mansion itself is aware of Meggan's existance, or her relationship to Amanda.

Jake and Betsy are working on options right now, but the information strongly suggests to me that Wisdom is involved in this. Whether wittingly as the coordinator, or unwittingly, as a dupe. Patches exists in Pete's files, listed as an 'odious litle stain' that Pete has total control over through the acquisition of some item of his held in a secret location. Patches had picked the kidnapping time and place carefully, knowing that Amanda would be alone and that no one else would be hovering. That suggests a detailed knowledge of Amanda's movements and habits; something which after almost a year and a half, Patches no longer has.

Patches used a charm to neutralize Amanda without causing permenant harm. That sort of feedback charm, according to my sources, has to be made specially for the subject, using something personal of the target in the creation ritual. Again, the lack of theft in the mansion, and with Amanda's tutor in New York means that the personal item had to far been acquired by someone that knew Amanda or someone close to her.

We can extrapolate from the timing and information that Patches went almost directly to the meeting site in Upstate New York. The three men killed at the ambush site where all likely killed within a few seconds of each other, considering the precision of the shots and the placement. Police failed to find any casings at the scenes other than those matching the 9mm Browning found in the burnt out car. Patches was immobilized and then placed in the trunk, outfitted so that he would have a sufficient airflow, as to prevent him from being killed or rendered unconscious from smoke inhalation prior to the fire reaching him.

I don't need to remind you that a death like that is meant as a message to someone.

The lack of identity from the rescuer suggests the use of an image inducer or equivilent technology. Obviously, these items are not commonplace, found only here, in major electronic research labs focused on military apps like those controlled by Shaw Industries, and in the hands of some of the most advanced and secretive intelligence groups in the world.

We're drafting a number of possible scenarios, based on likelihood, but looking at the raw facts, I can't see another instigator other than Wisdom. He's the only one that knows about both Patches and Meggan, and their ties with Amanda. He's the only connection to the two thugs that is even vaguely involved in New York. He's the only one that could have provided Patches with the kind of intel and resources to make the snatch in the first place.

The only thing that doesn't make sense is why? Is Meggan an asset to Pete, or was the kidnapping to get her out of the way so that Wisdom can use it to get Amanda out of the mansion ahead of an attack if the HFC orders it? Or did Wisdom find out the information leaked to another member of the club, and showed up to correct his mistake?

Which ever the case, I'm suggesting that we upgrade Wisdom's threat level immediately. Sean, you've got the police investigations and background none of us have. Can you take a look at this case and go over it to see if we're missing something?

Professor, the full range of motives and likelihood of the events will be on your desk Monday. I just thought you should all know the raw data, and why it's more worrisome than we thought originally.
