I'm kidding. Call it humor as coping mechanism. I did not expect to have to deal with something like this today, on top of everything else, and yet it was critical that we got this out in the open as soon as possible. What might have happened if some of our more volatile types had found out about it in any other circumstances might not have been good, for Paige or for the team dynamic in general.

I'm most worried about how her fellow trainees will react.

Nothing wrong with humor as a coping mechanism. And I certainly can't blame you for being up front and honest about this. I think you're doing the absolute right thing here, as rough as it is.

Next tough question. Is mine one of the files that has options for how to...neutralize me? Not that I want to ask these questions, mind, but I'm not sure I'm prepared to open my own file and read my sister's impressions of me and my power just yet.

Is there anything I can be doing for you about this?

To be perfectly honest, I haven't done more than skimmed them. I separated out yours, mine, and the other COs/XOs and I'll read through them first.

You don't have to look at it yourself, if you wanted to just trust me to make sure I give you the opportunity to act on anything that needs to be acted upon.

And no, I think we're pretty much at a standstill, at least until Moira's had a chance to go through them as well, and that may take a few days.

Sounds like the best idea. If you want anyone to go over the other CO/XO files (including yours), let me know.

I trust you with a trust that I can't really put into strong enough words at the moment, sir.

...someone should make sure Alison doesn't find out until we know that Haroun's out of the woods. She and Paige have always been close, and I can't see her reacting well to this, and that's not something she needs at the moment.

I'll go down and make sure she hasn't got a laptop anywhere nearby. Not that I imagine she's concentrating on anything but Haroun's surgery, but better to make sure. I'll be discreet, she'll never even see me.
