I told you already, don't worry about the rose bush. It's MARCH. They're dead. I was going to rip them out come spring and put some azaleas in to stabilize the soil a bit more. I'm amazed you got Charles' car out of the driveway, to tell you the truth. You're officially never driving to Harry's.
But about what you mentioned doing for Manuel, I have to agree. Kid's been in that room now for what? Three or four days? I looked in on him, there's no shower in there, and a worse toilet than you'd find in a jail cell. Believe me, I'm all for the kid having to control his powers, but let me tell you from experience, he ain't going to respond a lick to therapy if you take away his dignity. I don't know the kid much, but from what I gather he's one of those proud Spanish peacocks.
I spent longer strapped down to a hospital bed in a coma than that kid's been alive - and it really ain't any different. He's gotta be aware of his situation, but can't do anything about it. Maybe the point's to get him to crack, I don't know. But as much as I don't like the kid on general principle, you're right - he ain't going to make any progress looking like Charles Manson, Jr.
Figure I can take him out to the boathouse tonight, probably around 3am or so when everyone's guaranteed to be asleep. That way, he's not a danger to anyone, especially me. I've got an electric razor out there he can clean himself up with, and a good half-hour in a hot shower wouldn't hurt. If someone can get some clean clothes for him brought to the medlab, he can freshen himself up and would probably be a lot more receptive to whatever you and Doc Samson have set up for him.
Don't go thinking this means I'm all about helping with the therapy cases - I just don't want to see this kid causing any more trouble than he's worth.

Manuel has been offered access to shower facilities and clean clothing, and while the sink and toilet in the safe room are admittedly not up to the standard of the rest of the house, I would hardly characterize them as prison-issue. The young man is not a prisoner, Cain, despite how much he seems to enjoy playing the role, and we are not attempting to 'crack' him; in fact, I resent the implication. He is simply being detained, for his own protection as much as anyone else's, until Henry and I can successfully adapt a psionic inhibitor to his abilities. The inhibitor, too, is merely a temporary measure until such time as his control has sufficiently advanced that he is no longer overwhelmed by the emotions of others.
At this time, I don't think it would be in Manuel's best interest to remove him from the medlab facilities. If you wish, however, you may certainly show him, once again, the showers just down the hall.

Hey, whatever you want. Moira offered, I figured extending a bit of hospitality couldn't hurt. I'm sure you know exactly what's in his best interests.
