subject: Plan for Manuel de la Rocha
School reconvenes on this Monday and therefore we are going to need to develop a system of responsibility and information sharing for Manuel's treatment and reintegration into the student body. Given his history with other students and teachers, this may present some difficulty. I am of the opinion, however, that the standard approach as outlined by the school board may actually be most effective in this circumstance.
The school board mandates a panel composed of the treatment team (specialists) and a member of the school staff; in this case, that would be myself. The team meets on a weekly basis and then the student also meets with the team, though not alone. All students facing a panel of this sort are allotted at least one, and often two, advocates from staff and teachers. I am considering Marie D'Ancato and Shinobi Shaw as Manuel's advocates, though he has the right to reject them if he would prefer someone else. He must have at least one advocate, whether he likes it or not.
I am hoping that this will produce some coherency in Manuel's treatment process and improve his experience here overall. Please do respond with your input on this matter and we will put the final product in motion as soon as possible.
Regards,
Charles
