I fully plan to come find you once Moira and I are back and unpacked. (And I actually have a not insignificant amount of unpacking to do... this is what happens when Moira takes it into her head to shop for me.) I want to hear about how the rest of the course went, and I owe you the chance to grill me about links since I never answered that email.

I've got something for you, too... I did a little shopping of my own while Moira was otherwise occupied.

Since I seem to be remarkably lucid these last few days, we should take advantage of it. Once Moira and I are back, I'm at your disposal if you want to try any of those meditative techniques I mentioned.

How I'd missed it. Of course, the pessimistic part of me is also wondering how long it will last, but there's a glowing Scotswoman singing 'The Battle of Stirling' at the top of her lung from the driver's seat, so I'm going to try and live in the moment here. Even if the car is weaving all over the road.

Seriously, though, if what happened in the kitchen didn't convince you that my company is a bad thing to have (as it probably should have), I'd really appreciate hearing your impressions of what did happen. You might have noticed something I didn't. I may not know how long this respite is going to last, but as long as it does, I need to take advantage of being able to think clearly, and see about putting some of these pieces together.

...is what I'm tempted to say I owe you, for arranging this weekend. But since I suspect Moira would say she's got a prior claim, I'll have to settle for saying I owe you one. A big one. If you ever need something that's in my power to give, Marie, please ask. I would say it's been years since I've seen Moira like this, but I don't think I've ever seen her quite like this. I feel like I need sunglasses to look at her. And worries about having my head mostly to myself aside, I haven't been this happy in... hell, fifteen years, at least.

I'll come find you tonight sometime... I've got something for you. Moira's shopping craze was contagious. I would say it's a downside of the psi-link, but... not really seeing any downsides right now.

It strikes me that I probably owe you some help with the, ahem, landscaping. Feel free to collect. Actually, I've been thinking about it and I might be able to fix the tree. The one I turned into glass, I mean, not the one I blew up.

Moira told me you helped us out on Thursday. Thanks for that... can't say that I remember it, but I'm grateful.

First of all, I hear congratulations are in order (regarding the date, I mean). I somehow thought that you were probably being overly nervous... Tell me, are there pictures? ;)

I realize you're all back at classes this week, but do you think I might steal you for an hour or so sometime soon? That map I drew when I wandered off to the coffee shop is still nagging at me, and I'd really appreciate some help with the translating. Since my facility with that language seems to be both intermittent and not conscious... there's definitely more than one language on that map, in any case.

We have started classes again, so I will be busy during the day, but unless I have a truly distressing amount of homework, I should have free time otherwise.

I've had a few successes lately, though I am still getting headaches and not sleeping.

Glad the time away is helping, mate - it's amazing what a couple days away from this house can do for one's sanity, isn't it?

Don't worry. It takes a lot more than that to put me off of somebody's company. Hunt me down when you get back, and I'll tell you everything I can remember. I'll start writing things down now, so I don't forget anything.

Re: Trees of glass

No worries about the damage, you weren't near anything irreplaceable. Besides, this is only the second time I've had to carry your near-comatose carcass back to the mansion, only this time you weren't trying to puke down the back of my shirt.

When you get back, I'll show you the old quarry - I've been doing some ...work, for lack of a better term, down there. If you feel like smashing rocks to rubble, or juggling boulders, or whatever you do to get your stuff under control, there's an endless amount of debris.

While I'm thinking of it - how good are you at moving water?

It was nothing, Nathan, just a few phonecalls and whatnot (possibly setting a good example by having taken off, myself, in the past). I'm beyond happy that it was a successful trip for you two. You both deserved it. I'll be around tonight for office hours as usual.

According to everyone, best place to find me is out on the back porch with the rest of the smokers. Failing that, I'll be buried in homework in me room. And if I don't see you once classes are done with, I'll come looking, so fair warning in case I interrupt anything. ;)

Talking would be good. Especially about links. And I have those books Homily told me to give you. Just ignore that bits about angels and whatnot.

...You have something for me? As in, a present? Um, thanks? *goes off to wibble*

Nathan-

Yeah, congratulations are in order. She was gorgeous, the restaurant was great, dance class came in handy so that I didn't trip over her feet being nervous, and there was a goodnight kiss. Yeah. I'm still gushing the better part of a week later.

As for pictures, don't know that there's one of the date, but I think there _is_ one floating around of the two of us from when Alison and I picked up the Europe crowd from the airport. Contrary to what Jamie thinks, I haven't managed to get all the negatives. Besides, while it may be embarassing, it _is_ kinda cute. Mostly because of Angie. :) That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

And yeah, I'm sure I can find an hour or so to give you. And yeah, my facility with...Askani (that _is_ the name of the language, isn't it? Man, that's freaky how I pull random stuff out of my mutant-powered butt sometimes...)...still seems to be better than yours. And if there's more than one language on the map, the more fun experimenting with my powers. :) Just so long as you don't think I'll run across Crazy Future Lady. And even then, I can tell her off in her own tongue. *grin*
