Lorna,

At this point, I will assume that you have probably had your fill of speaking to people about the events of last week. However, in case you would like to speak to someone else, I would like to let you know that I am available to listen to you.

Forge,

Do you have any free time today or tomorrow? I would like to speak with you.

My schedule is easily flexible and not horrendously busy, barring any unforeseen crises. Although I am currently attempting to decipher some very odd bits of information from Kyle...

Bits that I possibly as his friend and former roommate should have been aware of, but was apparently too busy to notice. Apparently he and Clarice are an item. I did not see this coming at all.

Crystal,

Sick of it and more than.

Do you like ballet? I've got tickets for NYCB on Thursday and my date just canceled on me. He came down with mono, if you can believe that. I didn't think that people got mono once they were outside of high school.

Save me from a waste of money?

Crystal,

I paid for mine and then bought his off him when he came down with the plague. What can I say? I felt bad for him. Sucks enough to be sick without being out a hundred dollars, too.

Which isn't to say that he's getting another chance. I mean, does he seriously believe that I'm buying that he's got mono. Please.

Crystal,

The advantage of mono is that you just have to look and sound really tired when you deliver the news. I didn't believe he's really got mono for one single second. Seriously, no one but high school students actually gets mono. He's probably got a poker game or another date or something. I'm not even going to mess with that for guy who barely managed to get a third date in the first place.

C,

It's just a date. I mean, there was always a chance that I might possibly discover that beneath that incredibly attractive yet bland exterior there was a brilliant mind with cogent views on an array of fascinating topics. And hell, even if there wasn't, there are worse ways to spend an evening than at a show or a club with a guy who looks like he got through school by working as a model.

Dating doesn't have to be Important. It just has to be fun. He was fun for a little while, now he's more trouble than that fun is worth. Ergo, no more chances for dear Todd. He can go back to his Wakefield twin. (You're not going to get that pop culture reference, but don't worry, it's not actually a very good one.)

C,

All hail the mighty internet. Todd was the name of Elizabeth Wakefield's boyfriend. He too was pretty, yet useless. Like I said it wasn't a very good reference.

Oh, I'm aware. I'm just telling you why I went out with him. It's not a complicated equation or anything. He was cute, he asked and for a while, it was fun. That's all that I'm really interested in right now. I've done the 'get all invested, imagine forever and then realize you're too screwed up for that sort of happy ending' relationships. They're rewarding but oh, you pay for it in the end.

It's like going to the movies...okay, yes, usually you want quality and not just a way to pass the time. But sometimes you want a lame monster movie and not Citizen Kane. I'm in the market for silly buddy flick, not Best Picture of the Year.

The usual places. Which...of course you probably don't know because you don't date. Um, dance class, bars, clubs, through friends/acquaintances. Going out places. The bookstore. The grocery store. There are people everywhere.

I don't spend all my time at school, you know.

C,

Well, how else are you supposed to do it? Dating friends or coworkers? That always leads to badness. Trust me, I'm an expert.

It's a matter of preference I guess but...dating is about getting to know people. Seeing how you match, learning about them. If you're going to start dating a friend, how is it any different than just being their friend and adding making out?

Though, to be totally honest, when it comes right down to it, long term? I'd want him to be my friend as well.
