Subject: The Grounds
Hi Callie-
I heard you're laid up with some sort of bug. I hope you're feeling better, there's nothing worse than being sick over vacation!
I wanted to ask you a quick question about some of the plants on the grounds -- the roses, specifically. Have you been using any fertilizer or plant food, or done anything different with them recently? They're looking rather sickly and if they need any special treatment until you're back on your feet, I need to know.
Thanks!

Subject: Roses?
Zanne,
Yeah. I'm holed up in my room watching Audrey Hepburn movies with Monkey Joe. And making Julian bring me tea whenever I can.
Which roses are you talking about? There are a lot of different roses all over. And no, I haven't really changed anything. Unless somehow someone else slipped something in. They were fine when I was last out there.

You can probably see them from your room. Some of the bushes that are backed up against the mansion are doing really poorly. I should probably check to see what else they're near. Maybe something is leaking into the bed. Any ideas from our resident plant expert are appreciated!
Thanks!

So I can't see the roses, but I was able to talk with them. Don't worry. No one is poisoning our water or grounds. There's no chemicals or bugs or anything. So it's not that.
I'm sorry, it seems like my current state is adversely affecting the plants beneath my window. I can try and regrow them, but likely by morning they'll be sick as well. They shouldn't die, I hope, but I can't really do much until I'm not an infectious disease infecting person.

If they die, don't worry about it. We can transplant more over there, or do something different with the bed. I've had a yen to put in some lilacs anyway. More important is that you rest up and concentrate on getting well. Thank you for your help!
