Lex,

Welcome to the madhouse. I am unsure as to whether or not someone has already given you this greeting. As you may have noticed already, this is often what the mansion is.

I apologize if people are responding harshly to you. While we have had people 'warn' others about being out in the woods on previous occasions, this was generally to point out that something was going on, to warn people to watch out for it, not to tell people to keep away. As others pointed out on your journal last night, there are multiple people, including students, who use the woods as a haven. To ask those people to stay clear of the woods is unfair; if you feel that you may pose a danger in the woods, it should be your responsibility to make sure that you do not harm anyone, not the responsibility of the people who live here to make sure that they keep out of your way.

For the past two weeks, this is what was done by the people whose powers were changed. We took it upon ourselves to make sure that our new, uncontrolled abilities did not pose a threat to anyone in the mansion. We did not wander the halls, telling people to keep out of our way. I am sure that you did not mean to upset anyone with your post, but sometimes things we do not wish to happen do.

I suppose that this is not the best form of greeting, of saying hello to a new mansion resident, although "Welcome to the madhouse" does seem to be the best one there is. I am sure that this environment is a new, unexpected one for you, as it tends to be for all newcomers. Although some people appear to forget this fact, this is a school, and there are many young people here. I am sorry if I now seem to be harsh; this was not my intention. All of the above is my personal feeling; I have been both a student and a teacher here but am now only a guest, just like you.

Laurie,

I am more than a bit confused in regards to your recent journal pose. Are you not pleased that your powers have returned? I thought that you would be happy when they came back to you. I did not think that you were wishing that you would keep mine instead. Both of our powers have dangerous aspects; I thought you had accepted that. I thought you were well-aware of the fact that this was only a temporary change and were expecting your powers to return.

Subject: Words misunderstood.

Thanks for the intro Crystal. I understand that I don't have the authority to banish people from the woods, and that wasn't what I really meant in my journal post. However, I recognize that my language was very abrasive and was probably misinterpreted by most of the residents as a command and a threat. The post was more to inform people that I'd be out there, as Jean-Paul and Jeanne-Marie asked me to do so they wouldn't interrupt my hunt again.

I'll probably find some way to apologize once things cool down, I just don't know that I can say anything right now without sounding like more of an ass. So, I'm just going to leave it till I get back from the hunt, then I'll talk to people.

Crystal,

There will definitely be more things to be done. I'm going to put up a sign tomorrow morning in the big Kitchen. Hopefully people will see it and sign up for what they want to help with. Also, if you want to go shopping with me... I have no decorations.

Thanks,
Lex

Subject: Sort of, I don't know.

Crystal,

It's, or at least it feels complicated. Things feel weird right now, maybe that's part of my powers coming back. It's easy to be okay with something when you're not right in the thick of it.

I know we both have pros and cons, maybe it's just that the grass is greener? I don't know. I'm just very tired right now, and there's days when I wish I had no powers at all.
