Subject: Magical Prophecies.
As in, I've gone and found myself in one, relating to Nico. It's in this book she pinched from her dad. I'm having trouble reading the whole thing, but I have the following:
1) Nico's family is under a curse from that bloody Staff of hers;
2) Nico's known as the Last Minoru;
3) Nico's parents are going to die because of her.
I could really do with some advice, maybe even a reading. You know how much I hate magical prophecy, all dark portents and the rest. I'll buy you as much alcohol as you need later to kill the headache - I know that's what I wound up doing yesterday.

Doug mentioned that you were having some trouble with Nico's spellbook. He had choice words about the book's authors.
I can make time for this and the headaches. I would like to know if anyone else is going to die, for one, and several other questions and if I have questions, you and Nico must have many, many more questions than I can possibly think of.

Brilliant. And yeah, the people dying thing is one of the things I wanted to poke at. Since yeah, Nico the Last Minoru, parents dead by her hand, what's that mean for her? Is she the last 'cause she breaks the curse, or the last because she dies as well? I'm kind of attached to my grasshopper, so I'd rather try and avoid the dying part if possible.

Perhaps is she just the last because she changes her name? It is not uncommon, no? I know that sounds silly but your names are so very important as magic users that if she changed hers, and she has a legacy? It would end it, yes?

This is why I talk to you about this stuff. You think of these angles. :) I think changing her name might work - Minoru is an old matriarchal line, passed down from mother to daughter with men marrying in and changing their surnames - and it couldn't hurt to see if it's something that easy.
