Jean-Paul,
Thank you.
I would have taken Jared for a real flight, but I am not the sort of person who believes that someone's first flight should involve rocketing off the ground immediately and acting as though the flight is a ride in an amusement park. I am sorry if Jared was disappointed by the brief time he spent hovering in the air, but I hope he can understand that what we did was not truly flying, and had he simply stated that he did not feel ill and he wished to move higher and faster, I would have been happy to comply with his request.
I do not believe he realizes that I was once the flight teacher at Xavier's. Stating that my method of flight 'sucks' is beyond rude, and quite uncalled for. I understand that he needs to readjust to the idea of having his powers again, but there is no need to attack me in the process. I think some people just do not think about what they say, how it can affect other people, and what they are implying with their words.

Crystal,
You are welcome, of course. His rudeness was inexcusable, even if he did not intend to offend. You are more patient than I, at the very least. I would not have taken him aloft at all.
If you would care to fly in the future, please let me know.
Regards,
JPB

Jean-Paul,
I am in Attilan at the moment, helping Sooraya settle in, but I would love to go for a flight when I return to New York.
As rude as Jared has been, I am still sorry that he did not have the chance to truly see what flying is like. I am sorry that my method disappointed him, but I am not a character from a comic book. I do not fly around with a cape, and I do not need to physically carry someone in order for that person to become airborne. I enjoy flying very much and it is sad that he did not get to appreciate how wonderful it is to be high above the ground, completely surrounded by air.

Crystal,
When you return, then.
I would need to physically lift him, were I to take him up on his challenge. But I do not think that I will. At least I may also say that I never wore a cape when flying with Alpha Flight or the X-Men. Only the ridiculous suit.
Flying, it is the best kind of freedom, is it not?
