Dear All,

It has come to my attention that Amanda has been doing quite a lot of magic in the past week or so. I'm concerned that she is pushing herself too hard, especially this soon after the events in Mexico. If she continues as she has been going, not allowing herself appropriate recovery time, there is a strong possibility she will do herself physical harm - magic is a channelling of energies, and whilst Amanda's mutation gives her a natural advantage over most practitioners, there are limits and I believe she may be reaching hers. She missed her class with me today due to oversleeping, and she has mentioned having recurring headaches that don't pass as fast as they normally should.

I understand she is somewhat stubborn, and will continue to keep Healing Mr Dayspring regardless of anything said to her, but I ask that she be closely monitored for signs she is doing too much - symptoms such as excessive tiredness, headaches, nosebleeds, irritability and mood swings. Her procurement of the Orb of Fortis to use as a power source is concerning, but she has been open about having it, and has assured me she will continue to wear Romany's amulet to prevent any unpleasantness in regards to her addiction issues. I will be insisting she bring me the orb next Saturday, as I feel it is too much tempation in one place, despite the restraint she has shown, but should a problem arise beforehand, please contact me immediately.

Possibly I am being somewhat cautious, but as I have said, and as you have probably noted, Amanda is stubborn, and her emotional attachment to Mr Dayspring is strong enough that she feels she must do everything she can to help him. An admirable and most welcome development in her personality, but she also has little concern for her own welfare and I am afriad this leads her to over-extend herself. I will be conducting my own examination of her next Saturday; I will decide what, if anything, should be done then.

Regards,

Stephen Strange.

Dear Mr de la Rocha,

As you may be aware, I am Ms Sefton's magic tutor. She has mentioned you quite often during our sessions, and I profess a certain professional fascination with this link the two of you share.

However, that is not the reason for this email. I don't know if you are aware of it or not, but Amanda has been pushing herself very hard as of late, and I fear she may be hurting herself in the process: it has not been long since the events in Mexico, and she is still not fully recovered, despite what she thinks. I cannot monitor her myself without imposing myself on her privacy, nor can her guardian or teachers do the same, so I am asking for your help in this situation. I need someone to watch over her, make sure she gets enough rest and food, and doesn't over-extend her magic. I am sure you would be aware of her headaches and nosebleeds and such - if these become persistent, I would appreciate you either contacting me, or telling one of the doctors. She is too stubborn to admit she might be having difficulties, especially in the area of her powers, and I fear she may cause herself permanent harm if she goes on the way she is.

I'll be seeing her next Saturday at our usual session, and assessing the situation, but in the meantime, I would be much obliged if you could ensure she looks after herself.

Sincerely,

Stephen Strange.

So you're the eye-of-newt instructor she goes on about.

I'll keep an eye on her for you, but not for your sake, but for mine. I do not like her fatigue and her nosebleeds and her physical infirmities.

They interfere in my sport.

And since I'm writing you anyway - how are you on magickal history? Specifically, twelth-century paganism in the Pyranees? I apparently have an ancestor who was burned as a witch, and I'm mildly curious to see if the charges were true. I can compensate you for your troubles.

Manuel de la Rocha

So noted.

I watch after her for both her sake and mine, of course. I do not think there will be much to worry about. Things have been quiet of late.

And I am in your debt. Perhaps you will permit me some form of recompense, to satisfy honor?

Manuel
