Wade,
I found this stuff by my bed. A book for kids and a clock. I assume it's you since you left the talking card too. Thanks for the card, that was really cool. The book seems alright. I've started it. The clock is way cool. I'm actually doing summer school so it is useful now too.
Thanks for all of it. Glad you're back.

Hey, yeah - all that's from me. I'm running out of quality books to give you. You'll have to actually tell me what you like sometime so I can have a general area to shoot for, maybe. Cause otherwise it's just random stuff that catches my eye.
You're welcome. I was serious about food sometime.

So far, you've got good book taste. Even this one isn't bad, I mean, yeah, it's a little young I guess, but it's all about juvie and stuff so it's cool. Relateable I guess.
I'm gonna set the clock tonight and see how it works. I've got my watch, which was what I've been using, plus I just wake up early every day. Now I don't have to.
Yes, food. I like it. We should.

I don't think so. It depends on the book really. And books that are written in grade 2 braille (which is everything you've given me) have a sort of contracted form of English in places to make them smaller and so they can be read a little faster, at least in theory. Because most braille readers are slower than sighted readers.
Did you know that most blind people can't actually read braille?

No, actually. I didn't know that. Do they listen to a lot of audio books and things? I don't even like reading all that much and I can say I'd rather have the option than not. Where did you learn?

Yeah. Or don't read. A lot of people who lose their sight as adults, especially if they're old, never bother to learn. They might be able to read a sigh on a wall for the bathroom or something, but that's about it.
There's this place called Lighthouse International in the city that does rehab and has all sorts of programs for blind people of all ages. They even have a preschool. I did all my O&M, braille, etc there.

Orientation and mobility. basically, how to use a cane and cross streets and navigate the city/buses/trains/etc and not bump into things.

Gotcha. It's good that they have places like that to teach kids.

Yeah. They teach anyone who needs to learn and have all sorts of programs and things for music and careers and finding jobs and stuff. that's what their website says. I'v enot been there in a while. I get my canes there hwen I grow though.
Also, I've been typing without the voice software more. It's not too bad.

The voice-to-text software? I've heard you have to be careful to enunciate well, otherwise you wind up with weird words.
