Hi Em,
I’m guessing with your abilities and connections you probably know a bit about the problems I’ve been having, but I'm not sure how much you know, so in my own words, the Black Court’s got me hidden away in Boston to use my powers while holding everything I value in collateral. Last June I found some Black Court attacks on my holdings and when I went to Shaw about it (and yes, in hindsight I should have gone to you instead, I realize that now) I was told by Jason Wyngarde that I was to follow their demands or they’d easily arrange for something fatal to happen to one of the kids at the mansion, or a certain Mountie I’ve grown fond of. Not wanting to be responsible for that, I returned to Boston. I was told not to have any contact with anyone from my former life so I cut all ties. Probably should have done this emergency contact thing straight away, but I thought I could find my way out of this on my own. Frost stubbornness, I guess. But things have gotten worse and I can’t find my way out. I need help, Em.
Earlier this week Wyngarde arranged for 64 Square to be investigated federally for illegal money transfers, freezing my business and personal accounts. He ordered me to investigate a company I believe you’re familiar with- Eulud Pharm- to vet them for potential financial risks prior to the bid. I went to the plant in Queens and used my powers on the drug samples that are ready for shipping. I couldn’t see them ever leaving the plant. I Read every box, a half-dozen times. I couldn’t see another outcome- no matter how far in the future I went, I saw the drugs sitting in the plant until the building was bought by a restauranteur and then they were incinerated.
Wyngarde claimed that he would drop the investigation of 64 Square if I did as he asked, but I’ve just gotten in touch with him to tell him my findings and he gave no indication of following through, only told me to come to the Hellfire Club party on Saturday. I have a feeling he won’t be inclined to uphold his end of this bargain he thinks we have, and I’m about at the end of my rope, Em. That’s why I’ve taken the chance on contacting you today. He’s taken everything I’d come to be fond of in my life except my business, and now he’s threatening to take that away too. It’s too much.
But I don’t know how to take my life back from him, so instead my rebellion against him is that I’m letting you know what I found out about Eulud. Don’t buy the company, it’ll never be worth anything. I know it’s only money and you’ve got more than enough of it, but I wanted to warn you anyway. I’ve felt so fucking helpless for over a year now, but I felt like I could help you with this. And stick one to Wyngarde and Shaw at the same time, by having them buy the white salmon instead of you. Petty, I know, but it’s all I can do and at this point; even this small victory against them is more than I’ve had in fourteen months.
Well my time at the internet cafe is up... probably shouldn’t have spent the first half-hour looking up porn, huh?
Take care of yourself, Em. And Garrison, if you can.
Oh, and belated birthday wishes.
Adrienne.
