Bonjour.
It occurred to me today to check the calendar and it is a good thing I did, I think. This Thursday is Jean's birthday. I do not know which it is and I believe it is rude to ask, but this is not the point. The point, my friends, is that I think maybe her birthday has been forgotten in all the troubles. She has not mentioned it at all. This is not odd, necessarily, but I believe it would be good for her to spend her birthday not in the medlab, oui? And so I thought to ask - on such short notice, what is something we could do for her to get her out of the medlab? She has been through much, these past few months, and sitting vigil over Vanessa cannot be so easy for her, as it is not easy for any of us.
Merci,
Jean-Paul

... is it seriously the end of October? I guess it must be, if it's time for a Halloween party.
We should definitely do something. But I don't know if she'll want to go anywhere with Vanessa not awake.

Oui. I think it would be good for her, and us as well, maybe. Do you have thoughts on what we might do for her?

Whatever it is, it should include fancy dress. We should all get dressed up. It'll make Jean feel special. If I wasn't broke now, I'd go buy her a shiny new slinky dress, but that's beside the point. We should still dress up, no matter what we do.

Dressing up - oui, I think this can be arranged. Do we have thoughts on what to do otherwise? Food, perhaps? She has mentioned wishing for Italian a few times recently. I thought that might be good?

Are you saying you're paying for a caterer? Because I think that's what you're saying and if it's not, that's what you should be saying because it's awesome. Unless you're saying you want to fly us all to Italy for the evening, that would be even more awesome, but like Warren says, I don't know if we'll be able to get her to go very far from the mansion.

Have credit card, will pay.
What do people think of commandeering the Danger Room for the evening? We can take her 'anywhere' we like, and she won't be too far away if anything happens.
Also, I think we should buy her something to wear. And by we, I mean I am going to give you my credit card to take yourself shopping to acquire suitable attire for the evening.

I like this plan.
You're going to give me your credit card? Or Jean-Paul?

I will bring the food, oui? And so I think you are taking Warren's for the clothing. So what kind of food should I bring? I know a very good Italian restaurant.

Well, since you said in your other email that she mentioned wishing for Italian, I think you should go with the Italian restaurant! Ooooo! And I could get her a Cavalli and some Ferragamos! (Because if she has a dress she has to have shoes.) We'll make it a whole Italian theme! Should we do that? Can the Danger Room be dressed up like Italy and we can 'take her' there? Ooo, Sorrento! Or Tuscany! Or both! Can it be both? Tuscerrento?

Sounds good to me. My credit card is burning a hole in my wallet, you should come grab it. I'll work on the Danger Room scenario.
(And if you happen to spot something you like, I would not be opposed if you bought yourself something.)

Aww, you're too sweet. But I couldn't do that. It's not *my* birthday, after all! I will come pick up the card for Jean-related shopping, though!

No really, I insist.
