Guys-
Apparently there's some noise about an end-of-the-year party. Amanda and Alison are sort of planning it, and PCIF has been requested to play. You guys up for it? Also, any suggestions for setlist?

I will need to practice. Are -you- up for it after the bug problem?
I do not have any suggestions, except to remind you that I have only been playing for two months. If you want me to learn anything new, you will have to get me the sheet music tonight.

I'm always up for performing. :)
And it's not going to be the most formal of concerts, so I wouldn't worry too much, Angie. Besides, you sound great.

I just wanted to be sure. The bugs eating your brain might have eaten your ability to sing.
As long as I do not get distracted by you, I think I will be fine, if a little nervous.
What do we have that we know well?
Nothing Else Matters - I can do that both ways now. Standard Metallica or acoustic with the cello.

Doesn't much matter to me; pick something, I'll play it.
Mm . . . actually, not quite true. Jono, how's your Carlos Santana impression?

Please tell me we are NOT playing Smooth. No. NO NO NO. It was overplayed even at home, and I imagine it was more so here.

Nuh-uh. Classics.
I always liked "The River," at least until Mom told me I was conceived to it.
Which she might have been lying about, because I was also apparently conceived to Billy Joel, the Who, Led Zepplin, Tesla, and the Beatles. From which I conclude three things: 1, my parents like to disturb me. 2, it works every time. And 3, they had a very happy October in 1986.

Oh. Oh good. Because as good as Doug's impression of Rob Thomas is, I think that song might make me hide in a small hole somewhere.
Bent or Unwell would not be unwelcome though. I can play those.
Ew. EW! They -told- you that? EW! EW EW EW!
I try to think about my parents doing -that- as little as possible. Preferably "not at all." if at all possible.

I do kinda want to stay away from any and all songs that have been running through my head since Sunday, and both of those count, though.
And yeah, they did. I try not to think about it either, but see, the thing you have to remember is that my mom and Alison are like best friends now.

Oh. You have a good point.
Maybe the song about the postcards and the monkeys?
This is why my parents do not get to -meet- anyone. Having them meet Ms. Frost when we were in London was awkward enough.

That one would work, if Doug thinks he's up to singing it.
They already knew each other at Christmas. Well enough to conspire against me. Stupid 21st century telecommunications . . .

Santana? As long as I'm not supposed to wear anything colourful anything goes.
Well, mostly anything.
By the way, have we ever thought about writing our own songs?

Don't worry, I was talking about the guitar stylings, not the fashion sense. :)
I'm about tapped out for songwriting right now--and it'd be, um, odd, to play mine unless Doug didn't sing it (no offense, man) but we could definitely talk about coming up with original stuff, sure. Could be fun.
