If Artie feels the rules of living here are unfair, he is free to leave at any time, which is one of the things that makes it not a prison. I was not about to throw him out on the spot, but nor I am inclined to stop him from going if he chooses - as he says, he is of legal age to do as he likes.

I know it's not a prison, Mr. Sefton - I was in one. He knows it's not too, but well, I think he was just ranting a bit. And just because he's 18 doesn't mean he automatically can do everything on his own. He doesn't have anywhere else to go, you know?

I just don't want to come back and have one of my best friends be gone. :(

I believe Marie-Ange has taken him under her wing. I doubt she would let him go to an uncertain situation, even if the Professor did not arrange something for him, so if he does leave, you might find he goes only as far as the city.

I didn't know that, but it still doesn't mean I'd want him to leave the mansion. I think he thinks I'm ignoring him in favor of Kyle which isn't true. Kyle is my boyfriend, but Artie is one of my best friends and has always been and I don't want him to think that I'm totally blowing him off in favor of my boyfriend.

Perhaps you should arrange a regular time that is for you and him as friends. And not 3am LAN parties, Doreen, you need your sleep.
