Uhm... Maddie, Tandy, could you help me out... My mother wishes for me to do a course on interior decorating and another one of managing household accounts. I do not know how to do my school work, powers training and various others subjects I have been striving to master and make sufficient strides in my courses.
But I cannot tell her No. Please, do you of a way how I can divert her of sending me those courses? I do not know what to do.
Sincerely,
Hope Abbott

Go to Mr. Haller and ask for his help on handling your mother, that's what he's kinda paid to do. He's here to guide us on this bumpy road called life.

No.
You say no. Because you can say no, you just choose not to. The only thing that is keeping you from saying no is yourself.
I've been saying this for how long now? That you should just tell her no. Forget the excuses, deal with the consequences when you know what they are, and tell her to stop controlling your life.

I tell my parents no all the time.
"No mom. I will not try on that dress because it is super poofy and will make me look like a cupcake."
"No dad, I don't want to move to Alaska, Land of the Permafrost."
Okay. The second one did not end up helping much, but at least I registered my dislike of the situation.

I do think both courses would be helpful. Just not now...

If I didn't want to take the course? Absolutely. Same with my mother. I mean, my mother wanted me to take cooking this year but I didn't think I would have the time. Maybe I'll ask Lorna if I can pick it up next semester and do it for half a credit.

RE: Subject: I...
...Maddie is right, you do have the choice to say no. But saying it to a mother that is constantly...putting pressure on you might be hard. But Hope, I do know some sense on designing so I can teach you something and for household management...again...teenagers don't have to worry about that stuff.

She's never going to treat you like an adult, or with any respect, unless you show her that you're not some dumb kid any more and you do have the ability to make your own decisions because JFC, it's YOUR DAMN LIFE not hers.
Besides, teenagers are supposed to be rebellious.
What's the worst she can do? Pull you from the school? And after that?
Whatever. I have Geometry homework to do.
