Angie-
Was talking to my parents today, and they were hoping that I could come home for a little while in July some time. They asked if I'd like to bring anyone with me (I think they had Jamie in mind), I asked if you were welcome, and they would love to get to meet you. So, do you think we could find some time? And more importantly, would you like to go?
Love,
Doug

I would love to go. You are very sweet to ask. ;)
Also, your timing is excellent, as my father wanted to know when we were free to visit Lyon. Perhaps we could coordinate the trips and fly there, and then to Denver and then home? It might save our parents some money overall?

Coordinating trips sounds like an excellent idea.
...
Are you as nervous about meeting my parents as I am about meeting yours?

My parents will like you. You have nothing to be nervous about. You are charming and polite and speak fluent French. I do not think they ask for much more.
I am a bit nervous about meeting your parents. I am the person responsible for that hole in your ear, after all.

If you say they will. I just worry about getting the overprotective parent routine from your dad or something.
And they've had time to get used to the earring. So I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Papa,
Doug's parents have also requsted that he visit home this summer, and have extended me the same offer you made him. We thought that perhaps coordinating our travel plans would be a good idea - so that instead of you and the Ramsey's each having to get a set of tickets for us, that we could fly from Lyon to Denver, Colorado - where Doug's parents live - and then back home. It would save a trip, and I suspect it would save some money for both of you.
Is this reasonable, do you think?
Love,
Marie-Ange

My father? Overprotective? Hardly. You are far more likely to get that from my mother than my father, and Mama is still enchanted with the idea that our powers are so religiously inspired.
I am really, really hoping she stops that train of thought very soon.

Mom and Dad-
It turns out that Angie's parents had the same idea you had about visiting home this summer, and they made the same offer you made. We decided that it might make more sense to coordinate travel plans and fly directly from Lyon to Denver, thus saving a plane trip, and probably a fair amount of money. Any thoughts?

Doug
