You have nothing to thank me for. It was something I would have done for anyone. Anyone. As part of what I do and who I am and what the X-Men represent and because it needed doing. No more. No less.

A few months ago, I would have simply let someone willing to commit multiple murders without the slightest sign of remorse rot rather than go out and risk my life like that. I would have felt bad about it, yes. But I would have been able to step back anyway.

Remember that.

It may be all it was to you, luv, but to me, you risked your life to save someone I love very much. Even if you only went because you're Dazzler and the Professor asked you to, it doesn't change the fact that you answered the call. I owe you my life for helping to save hers. No more. No less.

As for the topic of her chosen method of (revenge? justice? something)... I'm inclined to agree with you. She did it because she was blinded by sadness and anger. As for me, I didn't stop her because I was blinded by love, and for that, I lost her. Even if she came back, it doesn't change that fact one iota.

Trust me. I'm not forgetting any of this.

And I choose your life for Miles' life.

You respect any decision I make about his future and back it up. You will exercise everything in your power to see him safe and unharmed and untroubled. And he will not be dragged into Sarah's vendetta, or anyone else's for that matter.

You're his mother. Of course I'd back you up. You don't even have to ask, especially not about keeping him free of Sarah's vendetta. I don't even want her involved with it, so I have no qualms about doing my damnedest to keep Miles (and Artie) as far away from it as I possibly can.

So, yes. I accept your terms.

Regarding the last.. I'm not used to any love, period. Blind or otherwise. I'm still trying to figure out where 'devotion' and 'stupidity' bleed together, and it's damned hard to do without any help, and you really don't need to listen to me babble on about this, especially not right now, I'm sorry. Shutting up.
