E-mails to Jean, Clarice and Haller

I am in no mood to talk with you about the thing that happened, but you don't get to use this as an excuse to stay inside for another 6 months.
To: [Jean Grey-Summers], [Clarice Ferguson]

Subject: The project of feminism
I agreed to go on a date with a man this week to keep the wrath of Salem Center from our door. Among other reasons that are way too annoying for me to get into right now.
Point being: Because I can in no way figure out what this man's character is, I will be texting you details and dispatches. If you don't hear from me for an hour, send help. (Also, I fully expect one or both of you to be prepared to save me with an "Oh, something bad happened" phone call if this completely tanks, which I suspect it will. This is what sisterhood is, I'm told.)
Oh, also, feminism may have failed us. Or succeeded and come back around again. I can't decide, and I'm reserving judgment until he decides whether or not to let me split the check. If this even gets that far.

I'm afraid I'm a bit rusty with the advice, It's been a long, long time since I've dated someone (God, that makes me feel old). But I would be glad to come up with an excuse to leave if need be. Ebola outbreak's a good one.
Coming into the date like it's a death sentence might be problematic. He'll sense that right away and try harder. Enjoy yourself, It's not often you get to take a break from the mansion. If it doesn't work out then go your separate ways. But don't continue to go out with him as some moral obligation or bribe.
And if he threatens to put that over your head let me know.

I wouldn't say I think it's a death sentence, but it's not like I asked for this situation, exactly.
Sigh. Yes. I will have a good time. I will stick to a 2-drink limit. I will enjoy myself.

That's true, you didn't. You could still say no. No one's forcing you to do something you don't want to do.
I could try to convince Scott to come with me to the restaurant you're at and pretend to run into you if you'd like if it gets too bad?

No, no, not necessary. Just be on call, on the off-chance Clarice has to teleport you into a restaurant to save me.
If anyone should have to do stalk-my-date duty, it's Haller. But the chances of that are pretty slim, so I'm willing to take the risk.

You make him sound like he's going to turn into a giant sea creature. Gah, I hope I didn't just jinx it.
Okay, only if you're sure. I'm perfectly willing to have a nice filet mingon and glass of wine at the same restaurant as you with my husband if needed, though. Just say the word. :)

Jesus, now I'm actually worried I'm going to get taken to an undersea kingdom at the end of the night. Thank you for that.

If you do, we'll come rescue you. If you don't...then yay.
