Jean,

I spoke to several of the people I know, and asked one to speak to people he knows. From what we can find, there was a contract with your name put out (you should be flattered, it was moderately well compensated). It has been rescinded (which means whoever asked for it has lost the initial fee). You should be safe - I have CC'd Wade as well, in case he has additional information but from what I can find, no one is currently sitting on rooftops watching you with a sniper scope.

So my contacts have turned up a few tidbits on this Crossfire dude, William Cross. Pretty much everything about him has been wiped. And I mean literally wiped. I even had somebody check hardcopies. He was born, he went to school, he graduated, he went into the military, and he disappeared. I can't find that he ever even got a parking ticket. There are some people who have first hand experiences with him overseas, but most of them aren't talking no matter the incentives offered. The others are all dead.

That said, he's recently made a splash in a couple different merc circles, snapping up jobs at the most ridiculously discounted rates I've ever seen. Like, holy shit, does he not even want to make money? On the other hand, he's thus far got a 100% satisfaction rate with his customers, so he's probably working on building himself up a solid base of clientele and then he'll start upping the rates once he's proven himself.

No actual intel on him specifically beyond that but I'll tell my people to keep their ears and eyes open just in case. There are no contracts out on your life, Jean, in the circles I run in.

So he ghosted. I'm guessing Biotech doesn't tolerate failure. Part of me wanted round two. The idiotic part. I think living at the mansion has started to rub off on me.
