Stephen,

Before the rest of the e-mail...how're you doing? I know how Amanda and Nathan are holding up (they're getting there...I hope) but I wanted to make sure you were doing okay after that horrific incident.

I'm sorry I didn't write sooner but after everything that's happened...which is another reason why I'm e-mailing you. Something happened in Iceland the other weekend and Dr. Bartlet and I were caught up in the middle of it. I'm doing some tests now but I may need another opinion, yours to be exact. I'm not sure what happened there was the result of mutancy but I can't be sure. Once the test results have been compiled and if they finish the way I think they might, would you mind running some tests of your own?

Dear Moira,

Thank you very much for the concern. This past week has been... well, 'difficult' would not even begin to cover it, but I've been doing my best. The university has provided counselling services for both students and faculty, and my TAs have been keeping quite the close eye on me - I believe I've had more cups of tea made for me this week than I have in my entire life.

It is a relief to know Amanda and Nathan are both recovering, and I apologise for my neglect in enquiring about them, although I know they are probably doing far better than myself. Unfortunately, one of those killed was a student of mine, and I have been dealing with the reactions of her classmates, as well as my own, and the physical costs of my interventions on that day. There has been a certain amount of hibernating on my part, I must confess - life as an academic does not prepare one for such a scene as the one I witnessed on Saturday. However, life must go on, and I have returned to my duties, both as scholar and as mentor. Please let both of them know I am glad they are safe and sound.

Speaking of which... Iceland, you say? Interesting. There was a certain disturbance in the balance of mystic energy flow last week, although coming so soon after the attack at Columbia I wasn't sure if I was merely imagining things. By all means, I would be happy to consult with you on this - you are all right, yes? I've been intending to revisit the school sometime this week, both to check on Amanda and to continue my observation of the Rasputin girl; Charles has asked me to monitor her magical abilities, in light of her deceptions. Let me know a suitable time for yourself, and I shall be there with bells on, to put it colloquially.
