Good morning, all.
Time for another update on the State of Affairs. And yes, progress has been made. Unfortunately not so much on finding a way of getting the children back, but at least we now have a why and a who for this whole thing.
Those of you who have studied any Norse mythology would know of a character called Loki. Half-God, half-Frost Giant, Lord of Mischief, annoyance to all and sundry. Well, it seems that the incident in Iceland not that long ago was a 'gift' from him to the people of his ancestral home, as it were. In capping the power source (which was pure magic, by the way - it gave just about every adept this side of the Equator a not-unpleasant jolt), quite the considerable insult was thrown directly in Loki's face, and he decided to take his revenge.
I don't need to explain the rest - in a nutshell, the children were taken by Loki as revenge for messing up his Icelandic fun. This explains the difficulty we've had in retrieving them, or even communicating with them. However, Stephen has further avenues of research, and is currently pursuing them, and now we know what we're up against, I hold the utmost confidence we will find a way to bring them back. If they don't make it under their own steam first.
One other thing that has come out of our investigations is that time flows differently in Asgard than it does here. It is entirely possible that weeks, perhaps months, have passed whilst the children have been gone, and what returns to us may not be what left. I tell you this in order that you are able to prepare yourselves, and the parents, but if there are difficulties of any sort, please refer the person to Stephen or myself. We promise not to break them too much.
