Subject: Fixer

This has been driving me absolutely mad - I know Fixer was dead. I checked multiple times before we left Alaska. I know coming back from the dead isn't entirely uncommon, but coming back from the dead and getting a robot body is a bit much. And he must have at least one other body where his mind actually is since I couldn't reach him completely.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid. It's bothering me, though. And with the damage he did, I'm not sure about leaving it to see what happens.

So I went over this with my new 'roommates' as best I could. From what I could gather, it was definitely Fixer, they referred to him as such. He definitely has some way to transfer his consciousness between bodies, given what he was attempting to do in the secure labs. I'm reasonably sure he's not working alone, but the nanites don't know who his backer is.

And that much took a lot of doing and gave me a wicked headache. They're not exactly a consciousness, more like a couple million puppies all pulling on the same leash.

I know the context of your situation because you have explained it to me. And then explained it again once you were off your very large dose of pain medication. Perhaps the 'couple million puppies' situation, as you termed it, should have a explanation for the rest of the team.

Okay, fine.

The 'too long, didn't read' version is that, in order to stop Fixer from doing what he was doing with building a bigger badder body, I had to give the nanites a better option than 'build shit and then die'. So we've got kind of a symbiotic/coexist thing going on. I can communicate with them after a fashion, but for the most part they are just kind of there in the background.

I think they might be helping with that whole 'pernicious magical anemia' thing, because I feel like I actually have energy lately. Amanda, whenever you're free, can you help me take a look at what's going on on that front?

Well, that was fun. Doug was right about his infestation helping with the blood curse - they're counteracting the whole energy drain thing and basically making it like he was never cursed in the first place.

They also give me a wicked magical woobie. I've gotten over the whole "tech is bad for magic" thing as a whole, but this is a whole other bag of chips. Millions of tiny robots with their own energy and stuff? OW. And they don't take kindly to foreign energy sources like spells.

Off to sleep off the headache.
