Shan,
You said, if there was any way to repay me for that tour, to let you know. Well, there is. It's pretty simple - I need distraction. Lots of it. My room-mate... well, he's gone, getting help with his mutation. And I'm not sure if he's coming back or not. So I need lots of books to read to keep my mind of stuff, really, and since that's your job now...
Help?

Date: 2004-08-29 10:47 pm (UTC)I'm so sorry to hear about your roommate, and I can certainly drop off some books for you. Is there anything in particular you're interested in? The school library has a ton of non-fiction in just about any subject area you can name, as well as an entire wall dedicated to classic fiction; if you point me somewhere, I can get something to you within the hour.
If you're not really feeling like intellectual discourse, I've ordered some young adult and adult fiction to flesh out the library's fiction section; I'm hoping most of it will be in by Wednesday. Of particular interest might be Neil Gaiman (after your experience in Asgard, I think you might really enjoy American Gods), Michael Crichton (that Jurassic Park guy -- good light summer reading), M.T. Anderson (who writes speculative YA fiction, and is quite good), and a bunch of stock sci-fi/fantasy authors -- McCaffrey, Asimov, Jordan, Lackey, Huff, Lisle. If you've got a particular area you're looking into, give me a shout, and I'll see what fits.
Until then, tell me what you're feeling like, and I'll drop by with some books for you. You take care, all right? And let me know if there's anything else I can do.

Date: 2004-08-29 11:03 pm (UTC)I'm not really sure what'd suit me best right now. How's about you bring me something you think I'd like, fiction or not, I'm not bothered. I just need not to think much - or not to think about mutation going wrong - right now.
Thank you. I will.
