Hey all,

tl;dr there's a possibility that the Underground's been compromised. XFI is looking into it, but if you guys have heard anything that might be helpful, hit me up. And obviously I'll keep you updated on what we find. Hopefully it's small and we can wrap this up in a nice box with a bow for Christmas.

Duly noted, Alex. Thank you for the heads up. I'd already discussed with the Underground contacts I have setting up more security for things like transports of people and drop offs of supplies, given what we heard after Garrison Kane pulled his Lazarus bit, so this just solidifies the need. Makes it even more immediate. I'll make sure the people I know are aware.

Sooraya and Angelo, I think we ought to look into hiring more security for the Community Centre in District X. What you you all think? And we should update the director as well as vetting everyone?

Alex, is this the Brotherhood connection Kane brought forward? Or something more? You know the children we've got at the Centre and the other vulnerable mutants as well. Are we going to need to go through all the current employees with a fine-toothed comb? Or is this worse than that? Several years ago, we dealt with anti-mutant infiltration in the Irish branch of the Underground. Turned out we had a mole - might we be looking at something along those lines?

We need to know first what we are dealing with here.

After Garrison's reports about the Brotherhood spreading his their idea's among the Underground, I have keeping an eye out for that, but I'm getting the feeling this is something else.

Reviewing the security at the community center and updating where needed is urgent, but until we know what we are dealing with here, it just guessing what steps are best to take.

Alex, if we want to take step of our own and secure things, we need more information.

With all due respect, Sooraya, while I agree that we need more information... I don't think now is the time to delay action while we wait for it. There are steps we can take across the board, as it were, to lock our people and those they protect down and better ensure their safety.

I've reached out to Kyle - Angelo, if you have any thoughts on people from the fights who might be interested in some legal work, please do let me know. Visible or passing, I've got places they could work regardless and some discretionary funds with which to pay them, assuming they get through whatever new vetting process we plan to use.

Come to think of it, I'll reach out to Doug to see if he can do some electronic background on the people we've employed already.

Some steps we can take for sure. Reaching out to Doug is a good idea for one. But even Doug can work better if he has some idea of what to look for.

We need to balance the need for security with two things in my opinion. The trust we have gained with several people in the Community Center is still so fragile, so I suggest we step carefully there. We want to be able to keep as many people on our radar as possible.

Secondly, if we are too obvious, we might create the opposite reaction of what we want and that whatever dangerous thing is going on, will fade into the shadows again. That could be even worse in the end.

Targeted security measures in the end are the best here.

I don't disagree. I also don't intend to broadcast to all and sundry that we're looking into people. That's part of the reason I thought to ask Doug to dig into our backgrounds. He's efficient and discrete.

I'd thought to check with Sue, since I know she's able to do much the same as Doug, but then it occurred to me that she's likely helping with the investigation proper, so I shouldn't worry her with extra information gathering.

I'll alert a few choice people I'm well familiar with about the potential issue but make sure they understand that discretion is the word of the day. Were it not for the mole we had to root out in Ireland a few years ago, I'd be less inclined to move forward immediately... now, though, even the thought of letting things build up to a point where a betrayal at just the right (wrong) moment might cost lives seems abhorrent to me.

Thank you, Angelo. Kyle mentioned he might know at least one person who'd be good for it, so if you know a couple others, I'll feel more comfortable. I just want to make sure the Community Centre and other soft targets in District X are as protected as we can make them for the moment.
